Guy J Buckley

Professional: Guy is a Chartered (UK) Patent Attorney and a European Patent Attorney.
He has a B.Sc. degree in Chemistry with Management Science from Imperial College, London, and is an Associate of the Royal College of Science.
Guy specializes in chemical and pharmaceutical patent prosecution and EP opposition.

Industry: Guy worked for over 20 years in corporate practice, including as Manager of European Patent Operations and Assistant Patent Counsel of Rohm and Haas Company, the US specialty materials manufacturer, and as Head of Intellectual Property for Laporte plc, a former FTSE 100 specialty chemicals company (since acquired by Degussa of Germany).
As well as drafting, prosecution and enforcement, Guy has been actively involved with the creation, development and implementation of IP strategies for new, developing and mature businesses, and has given lectures and presentations to a number of specialist groups, including the Royal Society of Chemistry, on IP related topics such as patent strategies and the use of IP in profitable growth.
